Microsoft's Surface line of tablets has had a rocky life despite always being a very good product, but it seems as though the slate is starting to find its own space in the market. Microsoft, as part of the company’s Q2 2015 earnings call, has revealed that the Surface Tablet is selling in solid numbers and is making some money for the company.

Redmond said it sold $1.1 billion worth of Surface tablets during that period, a growth from $908 million during the previous quarter in 2013. Just how many units that is was not revealed, but while the Surface is not selling in iPad numbers (Apple will rake in $8 billion from its tablet the quarter) the Surface does now seem to have a solid sales base.
