Facebook has been clawing its way into mobile and the company said two years ago that it wanted its main revenue to come from mobile advertising. Two years ago that was a long way off because Facebook was very much a web browser social network. However, the company has reached its goal according to its fiscal fourth quarter earnings.
The network revealed that it increased revenue 49% through the quarter and sat at $3.58 billion, with $701 million of that coming though in profit. Through 2014 as a whole, profit increased by 29% through the year, which is actually down from 44% in 2013, but Facebook attributes that to acquisitions. 85% of all Facebook users are now using the network through mobile devices and 33% of those use Facebook solely on mobile devices.
