Xiaomi confirmed yesterday that its new flagship smartphone, the Mi5, will be launching next month, with a curtain raiser at the CES show in Las Vegas likely. Reports suggest the handset may actually be called the Mi4s because it arrives just six months after the Mi4 flagship and is not a complete overhaul. In terms of design that certainly seems to be the case as this leaked image of the Mi5 or Mi4s shows.
It’s hard to tell from the picture exactly, but the handset looks to be around 5.5-incches, making it bigger than the 5-inch panel on the Mi4 and a bona fide phablet this time out. Xiaomi’s smartphone has not radically changed the design from the Mi4, it still has thin landscape bezels and is a premium and good looking smartphone.
The Xiaomi Mi5 is said to come with the latest smartphone specs, a 1440 x 2560 Quad HD screen, a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 CPU with 3GB of RAM, a 20.7MP rear snapper on the back and reportedly a limited run of 50,000 units that will come with a sapphire screen.
