Yesterday there were reports regarding Asus and a new handset the company is working on, one that will appeal to the selfie crowd. Imaginatively called the ZenFone Selfie, the new smartphone will essentially be a mid-range device with a spiffing front camera, just like other devices trying to appeal to the selfie trend. Just a day later, Asus has all but confirmed the ZenFone Selfie and even told us when it will launch.
Asus revealed "a new ZenFone family member" will make its debut at Computex 2015, the trade expo that is held in the company's Taiwan homeland during the first week of June. Asus didn’t stop there and added that the handset will "Illuminate the beauty that's in you through the front camera of the ZenFone --------".
Asus even added an image, although it is vague in the extreme, showing just the front facing camera sensor. As for that lens, it is expected to be a 13 megapixel shooter with dual LED flash. In terms of other specs, we are expecting something similar to the normal ZenFone 2, which means a 5.5-inch 720p screen and an Intel processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.
