The ASUS ZenWatch among the best wearables available, a nice blend of premium design and solid spceifications. The company has said before that we would have to wait until next year to see a ZenWatch 2, but now it seems that the device may appear sooner, next month in fact.
ASUS CEO Jerry Shen was speaking last month in New Delhi while launching the ZenFone 2 in India when he said that the ZenWatch 2 would probably launch in 2016. However, according to sources in Taiwan, Shen has now gone back on that and said it was a “misunderstanding” and that the smartwatch will actually be announced and Computex and will launch in the third quarter.
The Computex trade show takes place in Taipei, Taiwan during the first week of June (it starts June 2nd this year) and it the biggest computer trade show in the world. That’s interesting that ASUS would choose a computer expo to launch a wearable and not a mobile one such as IFA, but the company is obviously using home turf advantage.
