Microsoft revealed that Windows 10 will be launching on July 29th at its Build developers conference back in April, but Redmond did not say when the mobile specific version of the software will arrive. Thanks to Neowin, that information is now known as the company reported that Windows 10 Mobile will launch in September.
The information was gleaned from a Microsoft presentation where one of the slides said "Windows Mobile SKU's will be available late next quarter". We are currently in the second quarter (ending June 30th) and the third quarter runs July through September, meaning “late next quarter” likely means Windows 10 Mobile will get a September launch.
Microsoft is also expected to launch some new smartphone during September, including the Lumia 940 flagship, and these new handsets will run Windows 10 Mobile out of the box.
