Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge remains a bit of a niche device. It was hugely expensive when it launched, and while it is an excellent smartphone it faced stiff competition from the iPhone 6 Plus and the regular Galaxy Note 4. The Galaxy S6 Edge has received much more mainstream exposure, but all this folding screen stuff from Samsung started last year with the Note Edge.
The handset with a single edge is now receiving its Android 5.0 Lollipop update on Verizon in the United States. The largest carrier in the country is pushing the update out over the air, which means the OTA patch is arriving in stages and you may have to wait a few days before seeing the notification to upgrade.
Big Red says you will need at least 50% battery remaining on your device and a solid Wi-Fi connection to pull in the file. Android 5.0 Lollipop brings plenty of new features to the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, including Quick Settings, Material Design, Lock Screen Notifications, Project VOLTA, and a whole lot more.
