Blackberry is issuing a massive new update with the build number of Blackberry 10.3.1 (BB 10.3.1). The bump is available now and is rolling out simultaneously around the world and is coming to an array of the company’s current smartphones. If you are rocking a the BlackBerry Passport, BlackBerry Z30, BlackBerry Z10, BlackBerry Z3, BlackBerry Q10 or the BlackBerry Q5, you can get the update. It is also rolling out to the Porsche Design P'9982 and the Porsche Design P'9983.
Not to forget the Blackberry Classic, but that smartphone came with BB 10.3.1 already on board and was the first to get the software. The update is pretty significant and comes with a lot of changes, and the most interesting is probably the inclusion of Blackberry Assistant, the company's take on voice assistant such as Siri, Google Now, and Cortana. Also packaged in the new upgrade is Blackberry Blend, a new software that allows users to sync data to their computer or tablet.
Also included is the Amazon AppStore which gives Blackberry users access to most Android applications, not to mention Amazon's amazing app offers. Blackberry Hub and Instant Actions collect calls, BBM, email, text, and social media notifications in one place, and then lets you organize them in order. Keyboard Shortcuts, which made its debut with the Classic, now finds its way to all other Blackberry 10 compatible smartphones.
Power Saving Profile does what it says on the tin and can improve battery life by up to 15% and lets you decide which features to turn off to conserve power. On top of that, there are a slew of smaller new features such as camera feature recommendation, the ability to favourite media, slow motion video viewing, Story Maker, Meeting Mode, Quiet Mode, and BBM Meetings.
As I said, a very extensive update. The upgrade is rolling out in the United States, Canada, Europe, Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East now.
